Latest On Oracle Cloud This Week

In this blog post, I discuss the latest updates in Oracle Cloud including the new features and enhancements in Application console, Infrastructure Classic console, and all other updates.

E-Business Suite/Apps DBA

1. 19.1.1.2 Update for EBS on OCI Automation: Recently, Oracle made the second update, 19.1.1.2 available to Oracle E-Business Suite OCI 19.1.1 automation. I strongly recommend applying this update at your earliest convenience.
2. Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.9 Now Available: While the earlier update R12.2.8 concentrated more on stability, the current version update is more focused on the product and the feature enhancement. To know the high-level steps to download & apply the patch, check HERE.
3. Oracle Database 19c (19.3) Now Certified With EBS 12.2: Oracle announced that Oracle Database 19.3 is now certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 on-premises.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

1. New OCI Certification [1Z0-997]: Oracle has announced a new certification for OCI i.e. level 2 version (OCP).
2. Oracle Data Safe is now available: With Oracle Data Safe, you can protect the sensitive and regulated data in those databases.
3. Console Experience Enhancements Unite IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS: You can now log in to the Oracle Cloud Console home page, locate your IaaS or PaaS service from the navigation menu.
4. Improved User Experience for the Oracle IaaS and PaaS Console: Oracle enhanced the delivery of service-related announcements directly in the console.

Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC)

1. Migrating from ICS4SaaS to OIC4SaaS: Oracle introduced a new offering called Oracle Integration for Oracle SaaS (aka OIC4SaaS). 

Exadata on Cloud

1. Elastic Expansions Now Possible with Exadata Cloud at Customer 18.4.6: This release introduces Elastic Database and Storage Expansion which were long-awaited features for (Gen1) Exadata Cloud at Customer.
