Oracle has released their Quarterly Security Patches i.e. Critical Patch Update (CPU) on 16th April 2019 and it’s very important that you must apply them immediately.

What are Critical Patch Updates (CPUs)?
Critical Patch Updates are sets of patches containing fixes for security flaws in Oracle products. The Critical Patch Update program (CPU) was introduced in January 2005 to provide security fixes on a fixed, publicly available schedule to help customers lower their security management costs.

- Critical Patch Updates are collections of security fixes for Oracle products introduced in 2005
- They are released on the Tuesday closest to the 17th day of January, April, July, and October
- Recent one at the time of recording this is April 17th, 2019

E-Bussiness Suite (EBS) R12.2 & 12.1: Critical Patch Update (CPU)
If you are an Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Customer running EBS R12.2 or 12.1 then the starting point is
- 2484000.1 Identifying the Latest Critical Patch Update for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12
As new CPU is available this document will link Note for latest CPU
- 2514102.1 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 Critical Patch Update (April 2019)
From these 2 Notes:
- This Note list patch number for EBS R12.2 i.e. Patch # 29224724 and for 12.1 Patch # 29224722
- EBS Also has Database Tier so depending on Database version you have with EBS Apply appropriate CPU patch for Database
- EBS 12.2 version also has WebLogic Server 11g i.e. 10.3.6 so apply April version as 10.3.6.0.190416 and patch# 29204678
Note: Weblogic patches are applied using BEA Smart Update bsu.sh
- You must also apply JDK/JRE (Java Web Start – JWS) patches too as given note

Fusion Middleware: Critical Patch Update (CPU)
As you all know Oracle Fusion Middleware is a collection of products & some of them are (Identity & Access Management, SOA, BPMS, Webtier, WebCenter or Development tools like JDeveloper). So, depending on what products you are using you will be applying Oracle Fusion Middleware Patch.

Weblogic Server 12c & 11g: Critical Patch Update(CPU)
In Weblogic there are two versions:
- 12c (R1 & R2)
- 11g (10.3.6)
For Weblogic look at the below note for patches:
- WebLogic Server refer to note# 1470197.1 Patch Set Update (PSU) Release Listing for Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS)
- 1306505.1 Patch Set Update (PSU) Administration Guide for Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS)
Note: If you are working on the older version of Weblogic then first you need to update the Weblogic to the latest version i.e 12.2.1.3 then you can apply the below patch.
- Patch: WLS PATCH SET UPDATE 12.2.1.3.190416 Patch 29016089 (Opatch)
- Product Home: WebLogic Server 12.1.3.0 home Patch: WLS PATCH SET UPDATE 12.1.3.0.190416 Patch 29204657 (Opatch)
- Product Home: WebLogic Server 11g home Patch: WLS PATCH SET UPDATE 10.3.6.0.190416 Patch 29204678
