Create a Microsoft Entra ID User Inside the Azure Portal

Here are the Steps to create a Microsoft Entra ID user to log in to Microsoft Fabric:

Step 1: Go to the Azure Portal, Select Microsoft EntraID then select Users

Step 2: Then click users then select New User.

Step 3: Fill the Details and copy the Microsoft EntraID (the long one)

• Please copy the Entra ID and autogenerated password in Notepad so you can use it later.
• Make sure you choose the .onmicrosoft.com user principal name.

Step 4: Enter Display Name and Click on Review + Create

Step 5: Click on create. Kindly double check the principal name, make sure you choose the <domain>.mail.onmicrosoft.com user principal name.

Step 6: You will get the notification.

Create Microsoft Fabric Free Trial Account using Microsoft Azure EntraID

Step 1: Now, Open chrome browser in incognito mode (This is important else it will try to use existing azure portal account where as we want to use, userID created above with <domain>.mail.onmicrosoft.com principal name )

Step 2: In the new incognito browser, open https://app.fabric.microsoft.com and Put The Entra ID or password that you had copied onto a notepad during the creation process, Click on Submit.

Step 3: Enter the Password then click on Sign in

Step 4: Update the Password then click on sign in

Step 5: Then shows you the Authenticator app which enables MFA for your account, click on Next

Step 6: Click Next on below screen to setup Microsoft Authenticator

Step 7: When below screen comes, ( You need to setup and Scan the QR from Azure authenticator app from Mobile)

Setup Authenticator App on Phone

1. Download Microsoft Authentication App on your phone (depending on type of phone)

• iPhone
  

2. Open the Microsoft Authentication App on your phone and click on the + icon at the top right

3. Select: Work or School Account & then use Scan QR Code

4. Scan QR code that’s on Chrome browser and you should see your user configured with Microsoft Authenticator App like below

5. Go back to Chrome Browser and click Next

Step 8: Put the code shown in the screen then logged in successfully

Step 9: Select your County and enter your Business Mobile No

Step 10: Then get started.

Step 11: Now You have successfully signed in into the Microsoft Fabric by using Microsoft EntraID.

Step 12: Now, Start the Free Trial.

Step 13: Click on Activate.
