This post covers How to replicate compressed table in the database, one of the common query that we get frequently from our trainees in our training Oracle GoldenGate 12c Administration.
We have noticed as per our experience during training, there are some of the common queries/issues faced by trainees while they are supporting the Goldengate environment or setting up the new environment. Hence we have come up with a blog series on those common issues/questions and resolution. Here is the second Query:

How to replicate compressed table in the database?
Q: I have a compressed table in database. How can I replicate it?
Ans: Compressed tables are supported via Integrated Extract from OGG v 11.2.x.
In order for integrated capture to capture compressed tables, the source database COMPATIBLE setting must be at least 11.2.0.0.
Therefore, compressed tables can only be captured from Oracle DB 11.2 and source database parameter COMPATIBLE must be set to 11.2.0.0 or higher.
Note: OGG does not support compressed tables or partitions, neither does it handle it well with proper error messages until OGG v10.4.x.
