How Long Do Azure Certifications Valid?

The Azure certifications exam will typically need to be renewed 2 years from passing the certification. But according to a recent report, they are reducing the number of years an Azure exam is good for from two to one. This is into effect from June 30, 2021, at 12 AM (GTM).

The validity of the certification earned by certified professionals can be extended annually for free by giving an online assessment on the Microsoft Learn platform. The renewal assessment needs to pass for extension of the validity of your certifications by one more year.

All the role-based and specialty certifications will be valid for one year. So, all the Azure certifications cleared after the mentioned date will be valid for only one year. All these details are legit, and you can confirm this new policy from the official Microsoft community link from here.

Why Change In Azure Certification Policy?

According to Microsoft, this change is brought to align the demand of the job roles and in-demand skills due to rapid advancement and change in cloud technologies. According to Microsoft, it will help certified professionals to update with the market trend and technologies.

How To Extend The Azure Certifications Validity?

The validity of the Azure certifications earned by certified professionals can be extended yearly for free by giving an online assessment on Microsoft Learn. The renewal assessment needs to be passed to extend the validity of your certifications by one more year.

Certification expiration policy

  1. Role-based and speciality certifications expiry
Microsoft role-based (associate and expert) and speciality certifications are valid for one (1) year from the date that you just complete all requirements to earn that certification.
To prevent your certification from expiring you need to renew the certification before the certification expiration date. For more information about certification renewals, visit Renew your certification. After the certification expires, you may now not be able to renew that certification and can must re-earn the certification by passing all the desired exam(s).
  2. Fundamentals certifications expiry
    Microsoft fundamentals certifications don’t expire.
  3. Other Microsoft Certifications expiry
MOS, MTA, MCSA, MCSD, MCSE, and MCE certifications don’t expire.
  4. Beta exam certification expiry
If you passed a beta exam and earned a certification as a result, your certification achievement and expiration dates are supported by the date that the certification exam goes live, not the date you passed the beta exam. This ensures that you just have sufficient time to renew your certification after earning it.

FAQs

Q1. Is Microsoft Azure certification worth it?

Ans. Yes ! over the years, Microsoft built a positive reputation in the cloud market and is now considered a leading cloud giant. Microsoft certification presents you as a ‘certified professional’ with all the skillsets. Hence the certification help in providing you recognition and higher pay.

Q2. Which azure certification should a beginner take?

Ans. Azure – Fundamentals Exam [AZ-900] is one of the basic Azure Certifications that beginners must take (I really recommend). This is best as it includes basic knowledge of cloud services. Even If you are not from a non-IT background but interested in learning the cloud, you can go for this certification exam to understand cloud concepts. However, it’s not a mandatory (Optional) requirement for any other Microsoft Azure Exam.

Q3. Will Azure certification get me a job?

Ans. Azure certifications increase the chances of high-paying jobs and promotions, as well as more career options. With Azure training bringing endless possibilities to a brighter future, let’s not forget that it will also add to your experience and skillset.

Q4. What is the difference between the exam AI-102 and DP-100?

Ans. AI-102 is basically targeted at AI Engineers, where DP-100 is targeted at Data Scientists. The focus of AI-102 will be Azure Cognitive Services (vision, speech, language, APIs) and Azure Bot Service(Azure Bot Framework). And, for DP-100, it will be Azure Machine Learning and other related tools.

Q5. Which one to take first, AZ-303 or AZ-304?

Ans. Most of the candidates generally take the AZ-303 exam first. But it is completely a personal preference you can go for any of them first.

Q6. Can I pass the Azure Certification Exams just by watching videos?

Ans. Even if you can, please don’t do it. Getting Aure certification is not just to pass the exams but to explore the whole Azure platform with proper hands-on activities. I recommend you choose the right learning partner in your Azure Certification Journey.

Q7. I want to do AZ-104. Should I do AZ-900 first and then AZ-104?

Ans. It completely depends on your experience. If you already have good work experience in Azure, go directly to AZ-104. If you are just starting with cloud and Azure, begin the journey with AZ-900 Certification.

Q8. Does it be to require Azure Certification Exams?

Ans. If you’re in unchartered waters, it’s sensible to use a compass. Or in unknown terrain, a GPS
Well, if you’re just starting out, the certifications are your GPS to upskill yourself. think about certifications as a scientific conceive to develop your skills. So, in a way, i’d say, yes! they’re worth my dime
If you have already got a lot of experience working in Azure, then probably not! i’ve got not seen anyone getting hired solely because they need done certifications. you are doing not require a GPS to navigate your city
Although certifications themselves won’t cause employment, but a minimum of a point with a recruiter

Q9. Which learning resource has the foremost updated content?

Ans. The rapid pace of the Azure release means every other content provider will have a tricky time catching up. So, Microsoft documentation is that the best place to appear for the foremost updated information

Q10. Should I just use dumps to organize for the exam?

Ans. Theoretically, you can. But, ponder over these questions:
a. are you able to answer employment interview question?
b. are you able to solve a real-world problem?
c. are you able to meaningfully understand/explain what’s happening within the project?

Passing with dumps is like Being Confident without having Clarity. you’ll be confident in your skills. But you may look stupid! have it away the harder way, unlike 99% of your peers, so you stand get into the highest 1%

Q11. Many folks have passed the exam with dumps. Should I follow suit?

Ans. If the above answer doesn’t convince you, read the Microsoft policy on using dumps:
“If Microsoft learns that a candidate used a “brain dump” site to arrange for an exam, this candidate are permanently banned or prohibited from taking any future Microsoft Certification exams and will be decertified from the Microsoft Certification Program. additionally, test scores and certifications, if applicable, is also revoked. These actions is also taken whether or not the candidate failed to will defraud the Microsoft Certification Program.“

Q12. I’m a Project Manager handling cloud projects. Is there a certification that I can do?

Ans. Unfortunately, there aren’t any certifications targeting managers at now in time. But, if you would like to reinforce your skills, opt for the AZ-900 exam.

Q13. I need to try to to AZ-104. Should I do AZ-900 first and so AZ-104?

Ans. If you have already got good work experience in Azure, go on to AZ-104. If you’re getting started with cloud and Azure, begin with AZ-900

Q14. I’ve got an exam in 2 weeks. How long does it want inure the exam?

Ans. I get this question way too often. I cannot tell you anything without knowing your prior experience and the way much you have got already worked in Azure.
If you’ve got never worked in Azure
before, it’s a mountain to climb. Sorry, nothing to scare you, but the quantity of fabric to travel through for even the introductory certification like AZ-900 is large.
On the opposite hand, if you have got already add Azure, along with your bases covered, preparation should be a breeze

Q15. Do i want to memorize the Azure PowerShell and CLI commands for the exam?

Ans. The exam will test you to grasp both GUI and commands. some questions require PowerShell knowledge. Even fewer tests CLI. But don’t bother memorizing each command as you’d not be asked to put in writing one. Get an Azure subscription and follow the instructor/ebook/documentation. Just write the commands (preferably) or copy and paste commands once you do the labs. With time, the syntax will stick in your memory.
Also, you don’t must know the precise command name. Just understand the structure of the commands. The PowerShell questions are like ‘Choose the correct command of the subsequent for this scenario‘ types
Also, for PowerShell, learn the AZ module, not the AzureRM module

Q16. The ARM template seems complex. How do I study them? How are they tested?

Ans. As with PowerShell commands, understand the way it’s structured. for instance, an ARM template has 5 top-level sections, and so on. they’ll never tell you to put in writing the syntax to deploy a Virtual Machine. Mostly, it’ll be a case of identifying the missing parts

Q17. I heard there are questions with many correct answers. How do i do know what percentage to select?

Ans. There are questions with one correct answer and a few questions with multiple correct answers. When it’s the latter, the exam usually tells you to pick ‘2’, ‘3’ correct answers from the choices

Q18. are you able to return and alter the answers you marked earlier?

Ans. The exam is organized into sections, probably sections of three or 4 questions that test on a scenario. Within the section, you’ll be able to return and alter your answers. However, once you’re out of a piece, you can’t. Similar with Labs

Q19. Do i want to memorize the features of various SKUs? Or that of App Service Plans?

Ans. You don’t must memorize anything. Remember that the features of any SKUs change too often to meaningfully test the candidate. as an example, the App Service Plan Free tier has 1 GB of memory. Microsoft may attempt to upgrade to 2 GB supported customer feedback. So don’t worry about such trivial information

Q20. Does the lab require you to use PowerShell or CLI?

Ans. You can use any method you’re comfortable with within the labs. All that matters is that the end product

Q21. How the labs within the Azure exam are designed?

Ans. The labs are a sequence of steps associated with one another that has got to be exhausted order. as an example,
Step 1 is also to make a VNet.
Step 2 is also to hitch the VNet to a different VNet and then on.
You will be a Microsoft account to log in to Azure. The environment is restricted so you can not do/find everything that you just want. Be prepared, the labs is also painfully slow to finish, including groggy hardware. So you wish to manage some time better

Conclusion

Businesses are rapidly adopting Microsoft Azure cloud services, and the demand is growing for certified Azure administrators, solution architects, developers, and security engineers. Microsoft Azure Certifications are not easy exams, but not complex as well. You can easily pass by choosing the right learning partner. It is crucial to understanding knowledge in parallel to rapidly growing cloud technologies.
