Let’s look at the New releases:
1. Upgrade Oracle Database From Console
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure users can now upgrade Databases from their console
An upgrade operation cannot happen while an automatic backup operation is ongoing. Before upgrading, Oracle suggests disabling automatic backups and performing a manual backup.
For Example: If you’re upgrading a database that uses version 11.2 software, the resulting version 19c database is going to be a non-container database (non-CDB). After upgrading, you can’t use automatic backups taken before the upgrade to revive the database to an earlier point in time.
